Quick take
Welcome back to Overclocked Split 2! To start the latter half of the season, we’re bringing Legend balancing changes, new shotgun hop-ups, and various fixes and improvements that we think you’re going to like a lot. With all these changes landing on June 23rd, it’s the perfect time to grab your squad and dive into Overclocked!
- We cannot overstate the value we put on competitive integrity in Apex Legends; hopefully you’ve seen our incremental and seasonal recap account ban updates. We have also been working hard behind the scenes to eradicate less conventional hacks. This season, we implemented detection for a reverse speed hack, preventing cheaters from freezing themselves mid-air for long stretches of time. Additionally, we identified and resolved numerous exploits that could be used to take down servers. Combatting cheaters is a constant cat and mouse game, as such, we are not always able to discuss all the things we’re working on, lest we tip our hand to bad actors. Rest assured, we are committed to making Apex Legends the cleanest it can possibly be, and we are working on things that we’re excited to be able to share with you soon. Please continue to report suspected cheaters, your reports help inform our anti-cheat work!
- Ballistic now respawns with his Sling weapon in all game modes.
- Overheat now only applies to one weapon.

PATCH NOTES
LEGENDS
BALLISTIC
Passive
Ballistic now respawns with his Sling weapon in all game modes.
Tactical
Overheat now only applies to one weapon.
If a player has a weapon out when hit by Whistler the overheat debuff applies only to that weapon.
If the player is unarmed when hit by Whistler it applies to the weapon in the first weapon slot.
Overheat no longer degrades when not firing or swapping to another weapon.
Overheat does not increment when swapping to another weapon and shooting.
Overheat damage increased from 15 to 50.
Overheat debuff duration increased from 12 to 15.
Tactical charges increased from 1 to 2.
Decreased time between firing and when homing activates.
The overheat debuff no longer re-applies if you hit someone who is already overheating and you cannot apply it to multiple guns on the same player.
Ultimate
Ballistic and teammates within range get a sprint boost when his Ultimate is activated. (Previously only Ballistic got a speed boost)
Sprint boost will only apply a speed boost while sprinting and will not speed up other types of movement.
Upgrades
Level 2
Extra Bullet: Gain an additional Tactical charge.
Trap Mode: When placed in the world, Ballistic’s KTactical lasts 15 seconds and deals 35 damage if an enemy walks into it.

Killing Time: Now moved to level 3, still provides a 15 second extension to Ballistic’s Ultimate.

This should make him a little harder to hit when riding on his Ultimate and other ziplines in the world.

Removed the progressive cooldown and it is now a flat 20 seconds.
Ultimate
Increased launch speed of the zipline projectile.
